Rex Miller
Rex Miller, through his paintings in
oil, seeks to convey his passion for the Chesapeake Bay country, its
challenging waters, remote island villages, fascinating colonial
towns and peaceful rural countryside. He has become a recognized
Southern Maryland artist noted for his colorful and emotive
landscapes, winning several awards in Calvert County.
Following his retirement from NASA and an engineering consulting
firm in the early 90’s, Rex has devoted full time to studying art at
the McLean School of Art under John Bryants and the Alexandria Art
League. He has also studied under nationally recognized artist Ross
Merrill and professional artist Elizabeth Bygler. Impressionist
artists Stobart, Turner and Constable have influenced his style of
painting. Appropriately, he is a member of the American
Impressionist Society.
Rex’s work can be seen at the North End Gallery in Leonardtown,
Chesapeake House of Frames Gallery and CalvART Gallery in Prince
Frederick, MD. His work can also be viewed at his studio in
Solomons, MD by appointment.
