The Arts Council of Calvert County’s annual grant season opens August 1. To better support programming throughout the year, we have two application deadlines based on when your program or event will take place. Applicants with programs scheduled between July and January should submit their applications by September 30. If your program occurs between February and June, please plan to submit your application by January 8. This timeline will help the grants committee review applications more efficiently and ensure timely support for all awarded projects.

Funding for grants offered by the Arts Council of Calvert County originate from a combination of the Maryland State Arts Council, foundation and private grants, community sponsors, and private donors. Grantees must give credit to the Arts Council of Calvert County and the Maryland State Arts Council in brochures, programs, news releases, publications, online advertisements, and all other publicity materials. Projects must take place within the fiscal year for which they are applied (fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30). Applications are reviewed by the Grants Review committee.
Grant Recognition Guidelines
If awarded a grant from ACCC, acknowledgement of ACCC grants must be prominently displayed in all materials and announcements for your grant-funded project, including in print and online publications, as well as verbal announcements.
Minimum language requirements:

“This [performance, program, event, presentation, etc.] is funded in part by the Arts Council of Calvert County’s [Arts in Education; Community] grant. To learn more, visit www.calvertarts.org/grants.”

Arts in Education
The Arts Council of Calvert County offers up to a $500 Arts in Education grant to qualified arts-related teachers in Calvert County. These grants are to support artistic presentations that further the cultural arts development of students in state-chartered public and private schools located in Calvert County, MD. Schools across Calvert County benefit from this program which provides funds to help teachers in art, music, theater, and dance create educational opportunities for their students by bringing the arts and artists to their classroom.

Community Grant
The Arts Council of Calvert County’s Community grant program is intended for certified nonprofit organizations who wish to present an arts-related event in Calvert County.
The Arts Council of Calvert County grants must be used in, or for, Calvert County, MD to support cultural arts programs. Applicants for the Community grant must be a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Applicants need not be geographically based in Calvert County, but the program must be presented in or for the County to qualify. Grant season remains open until grant funds are expired.
