Our Programs

In service to our mission to invest in and encourage the arts in Calvert County, the Arts Council of Calvert County sponsors and hosts numerous programs. We are working to create and maintain the space, support, encouragement, and accessibility that allows every person to be creative. 

We invite you to explore our programs and find ways you can get involved.

Grants 

In support of our mission, we sponsor grants to art educators in schools throughout Calvert County and organizations for arts-related programs.  

Student Reading Textbook

Scholarships

The Arts Council awards three Scholarships each year to Calvert County students who intend to pursue an arts-related degree in college.

Group Therapy Session

Creative Network

The Arts Council of Calvert County is proud to offer an online directory of local artists, performers, crafters, authors, venues, organizations, and businesses – Calvert County’s Creative Network!

This searchable directory will allow you to find and engage with working artists and arts educators in your community.

CalvART Gallery 

As a portion of it mission, the Arts Council provides the gallery as a place where local artists may display and sell their art. You are welcome to browse artworks from over 30 local artists who display at CalvART. Visit our beautiful facility during our regular business hours, one of our receptions or special events!

Kocen Arts Center

Located at 22 Duke Street in Prince Frederick, this space will offer more arts programming for Calvert County. Local artists hosting art classes for the public, open studio time for people to bring in their current project to work on, art lectures and demonstrations, and more!

Barn Quilt Trail

The mission of the Barn Quilt Trail is to connect our community and visitors by promoting Calvert County’s agricultural heritage, local history and artistic talent through the exhibition of hand-painted quilt squares on barns and buildings throughout Calvert County.
